Our cookware is the culmination of over 40 years experience crafting specialty multiclad stainless steel cookware in the USA, and is made with only the highest quality materials and superior craftsmanship. In addition to our cookware, we also offer Hammer Stahl Cutlery and Kitchen products. Our mission is to equip home cooks with quality tools at an affordable price, empowering a lifetime great cooking.

A History of Innovation

  • 1874

    The Vollrath Company is founded in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.

  • 1892

    Sheet steel stamped ware is added to the product line, increasing selection significantly.

  • 1945

    The Vollrath Company is presented with the Army-Navy ā€œEā€ Award for excellence in production of war equipment such as spoons and ladles.

  • 1965

    Donald Henn starts selling Vollrath cookware directly to consumers under the name Mid-America Distribution.

  • 1974

    Vollrath adds a cookware facility in Clarksville, Tennessee.

  • 1982

    Donald Henn purchases the consumer division of Vollrath and its Tennessee production facility, establishing the New Era Cookware Company and thus launching a strong initiative to bring superior products to home kitchens. Since then, New Era has sold private label and OEM cookware in the US and worldwide.

  • 1985

    New Era introduces its first induction ready cookware line, making it one of the first companies to do so.

  • 1987

    New Era introduces the very first 7-ply surgical stainless steel cookware.

  • 2007

    New Era moves to a new facility in Clarksville, Tennessee. This advanced 63,000 square foot factory is environmentally friendly and efficient, using a state-of-the-art chemical-free washing system.

  • 2008

    New Era acquires Hammer Stahl Cutlery, producing a new combination of high quality German steel and an affordable manufacturing process.

  • 2013

    New Era introduces Hammer Stahl Cookware, crafting the most advanced version of its 7-ply stainless steel cookware, including an innovative handle design and state-of-the-art stainless steel.

  • 2015

    Hammer Stahl expands into retail stores around the country, supporting local independent retailers.

  • 2017

    Hammer Stahl officially converts all of its cookware production to 316Ti interior steel, making its cooking surface the most durable and non-reactive on the market.

  • 2019

    New Era and Hammer Stahl consolidate under the Heritage Steel brand, celebrating the company's heritage of quality goods manufactured in the USA.
